Jinx

4.75⭐️1🌶
I severely fallen behind in my book posts, sorry.  Jinx by Juno Lark was good.  I enjoyed it.  Its book one of an urban fantasy shifter why choose romance series.  The shifters are gryphons, which was a first for me.  There is a pack dynamic with them, which I liked.  Each of the guys have a little bit different relationship with the FMC Cordelia.  Cordelia believes she is cursed.  At a young age her parents abandoned her and she was raised by her aunt.  After her aunt passes from cancer Cordie pickes up and moves to an upstate NY college town in an attempt to have a life.  It was her aunts dying wish for Cordie to live her dreams.  If Cordie touches the bare skin of another person, bad things happen to them, so she isolated herself with just her aunt for years.  She literally bumps into Bellamy, the first guy of this shifter brotherhood one day and a connection instantly formed between them.  There is a very complicated world beneath the surface and some really complex mythos going on.  We learn about it as Cordie does, so the world building is slow and deliberate.  Cordie was hidden from the pack and this world for an unknown reason, but she's got powerful magic she didn't know about.  She's also got an awesome gigantic Mainecoon cat.  This will be a series why choose, but there wasn't a while lot of action in this first book.  I enjoyed the way it unfolded an built slowly.  I really enjoyed all the guys, they each have their own baggage and it'll be interesting to see how they all interact with Cordie and eachother as this goes on.  It was a fun read and great for Cocktober, which I'm celebrating with as many 🍆 as I can.  It'll be out on the 20th.

YOP: Week 29

The fair was a success.  My items did well and Liara got some ribbons as well.  We went to the parade on Tuesday, then down to the grounds once it was over.  We stopped by one local vender to grab some jewelry, grabbed some donuts from the Donut Diner then went to see how we placed.  Liara entered earrings that she hand-made with clay.  They did not place.  She entered a beaded bracelet that got first. She also entered three of her drawings.  A Pegasus, a bunny and a magical worm.  The bunny and the worm received third and the Pegasus received second.   The bunny is my personal favorite of all the drawings she's done.  There is always a really good turn out in the drawing and photography categories, so she was up against some stiff competition.  I'm really happy she received some ribbons. My items are as follows: Rotini Beanie; First Enchantress MKAL; First. Sunburst Potholder; Second.  Cow and Hen Dishcloth set; ...

Year of Projects: Week 53; El Fin.

I thought I'd do a quick review of my Year of Projects.  I started participating around week 5 so I'm summing up my year from that point to present.  I have 24 project entries on Ravelry.  (If I do several dishcloths back-to-back, I usually only make one project entry, so there are more than 24 individual finished items.  Direct Link to Goal Post:  YOP first post   I finished: -3 pairs of fingerless mitts -2 pairs of mittens -2 pairs of socks -5 hats -2 cowls -2 baby blankets -16 dishcloths -1 potholder -1 shawl I have one sock that's going to be frogged and half of another dishcloth that's sitting around because I ran out of that colorway of yarn.  I do have a few other WIPs still hanging about from prior to August of last year.  (We're going to keep pretending they don't exist.) I made a simple little picture "movie" of my projects, enjoy: As far as my quickly thrown together list: I completed 3/5 of my projected projects......

YOP: Week 35

Not much to report this week.  I didn't do much crafting.  I finished the swap, got it packaged up and mailed out.  It should have arrived to my recipient yesterday.  I'll share what I made.  The theme was Favorite Things.  She likes the colors pale yellow and deep dark red and dragons, so I went all out with the dragons.  I chose  Dragon Scale Mitts  for the handmade item.  I used Madeline Tosh Sport in the Tart colorway.   My camera doesn't really do this colorway justice.  It has more depth in real life.  I think they came out nicely though. I was able to find dragon fabric at The Quilt Shop.  I made a reversible project bag. I paired each dragon fabric with one of her favorite colors.  Liara really liked the dragon fabric as well.  I'm probably going to get some more when I go again.  I also sent some stationary items and a bunch of Swedish Fish, which were also things she had req...
