Team Stargate Command

So I made Team SGC, woot!   I probably should watch through some to refresh.  I might jump into the later seasons of Atlantis, I seem to have missed out on some of those eps.  T4 starts the same day the new ED opens at SJH.  I have a feeling I'm going to need the therapy after that day of work.  St. Joseph's Hospital is going through a $220 million expansion right now.  The new Emergency Services Building was 72 mil of that.  Its the largest green project in central NY.  Its a pretty big deal, I guess.  All I know is that its going to up the patients seen in the ED by 20,000 per year and the lab has not hired more people.  Maybe all those numbers don't mean too much in the grand scheme of things.  I feel like 10 extra beds and a better layout will speed up things and increase our workload enough to warrant extra people.  Especially noting that we're understaffed to begin with, but hey.  What do I know, I just do that work, in the most screwed up layout ever conceiv

Playing the Waiting Game.

I'm getting really excited about Tournament Four of Nerd Wars.  I signed up with Team SGC as a first choice and Team Space Alliance as my second.  I would be happy with either.  The people on the new space team look really fun.           There are a bunch of projects I want to get working on, but I want to save them in case they'll fit into a NW challenge.  So last night, instead of working on that cursed mitten, I busted out a hat.  I want to get my stock back up so I can go on a selling spree at work.       I get lots of good feedback on the items with Fun Fur in them.  Why people go for fuzzy things is beyond me.  When I first started out I had a Fun Fur faze and apparently people like it.  So last night, I dug though my stash and found almost all my Fun Fur.  I'm not looking forward to this but if fuzz is what they want then fuzz is what I'll be selling.

More Fun with Llama

I've decided I should finish some of my WIP's (work in progress).  I'm starting with the Hermione mittens.  I only had the left one to go, so what was I waiting for?  A gently kick in the behind apparently.  I've raved about the Baby Llama before.  Its still wonderful to work with.  Its even Jack approved.  I laid down the knitting last night briefly.  I looked over at him and he had chewed and swallowed 6 inches already.  (Graphic testimony ahead)  I pulled the yarn out of his mouth, carefully of course.  It was quite sodden but not chewed through.  A testament to how strong llama and all natural fibers are.  I'm going to have to be more careful with Jack.  This habit can prove very dangerous.  He normally doesn't bother my yarns, but I've read that some natural fibers can be more enticing than others based on smell.  A big one is Alpaca.  Llama is actually very similar in construction to Alpaca, so it makes sense.  Okay picture time so y'all know

Happy New Year

So apparently its 2012.  So much for keeping up with the blog.  December was crazy and it felt like one week not four.  I spent the first two weeks of December frantically finishing up my 60 dishcloth order.  Okay it wasn't really that frantic.  I then spent the next week finishing up the other few obligations I had to two other clients.  So here are the fruits of December's labor. There they are all 60.  There variegated ones went over the best, from what I was told.  People were fighting over them.  Yea! A Jayne Cobb hat.  I will never tire of these.  They're so fun and pretty easy.  I'm hoping to get some better pictures with the recipient.      I don't have pictures of the potholder I made for my brother.  It's super ugly so it may be better I didn't take pictures.  I also need to get pics of the other dishcloths I made.  I see dishcloths in my sleep.  I will never be done knitting them, someone always wants some, and they're super portable.
